Benefits of Darwin’s real meat venison jerky treats for dogs:
1. real meat is best for dogs!
Dogs are meat eaters and have no reason to eat corn, soy or grain – these are just cheap fillers that many dog food and treat companies use to save money.
Sure, dogs can get by on a little “junk food” every now and then but it’s best if the majority of their treats are healthy.
I do a lot of training with Remy, and I prefer that the majority of his treats are real meat such as the Darwin’s venison treats.

Is wild venison safe for dogs?
Darwin’s does not use wild venison for its jerky treats. They are made from ranch-raised venison, free of antibiotics and hormones. However, those who feed their dogs a raw diet might be wondering if it’s safe to feed a dog wild deer meat.

Obviously one of the main benefits of wild venison meat for dogs (or for people) is that the deer are “free range” and basically “organic” as they are wild. (Keep in mind, a lot of deer still eat a lot of corn, depending on how close they live to corn fields.)

Veiligheidstips bij het voeden van rauw hertvlees aan honden
1. Bevries het hertenvlees gedurende drie weken voor het voeden. Dit zal alle potentiële parasieten in het vlees doden. Mensen eten duidelijk wild hert zonder problemen, maar we koken eerst het vlees, wat ook mogelijke parasieten doodt.
2. Licht risico op chronische verspilde ziekte. De blog My Rotten Dogs heeft een goed artikel over het voeden van wilde game aan je hond en het potentieel voor herten om chronische verspilde ziekte te hebben of te dragen (CWD). Deze ziekte lijkt geen invloed te hebben op honden of wolven, maar kan overbrengen naar mensen.
3. Alle hertenvlees en organen zijn veilig om te voeden. Vries eerst eerst of kook het vlees, zie hierboven. (Merk op dat orgelvlees “rijker” is, dus introduceer het langzaam.)
4. Geef uw hond geen gewichtdragende hertenbotten. Je kunt ze aan je hond geven, maar ken de kauwstijl van je hond.

Remy met een rauwe eendenhals van Darwin’s
Ik geef mijn hond geen Remy grote botten omdat hij een harde kauwer is en ik maak me zorgen dat hij een tand zal breken of grote stukken bot probeert door te slikken. Remy eet alleen rauwe kip, eend (hierboven weergegeven) en kalkoenbotten.
Geef uw hond nooit enige vorm van gekookte botten.
5. Doorgewinterde hertenworst of schokkerig is niet goed voor honden. Als je hert schokkerig of worst van een vriend accepteert, ga je gang en geniet ervan, maar het is waarschijnlijk het beste om je hond niet te geven.
Hertenworst of schokkerig is waarschijnlijk gekruid en kan leiden tot een maagklachten voor je pup! De traktaties van Darwin zijn een veel betere keuze, omdat het speciaal voor honden is gemaakt!
Dus daar heb je het!
Het dieet van Remy is meestal voedsel van Darwin, maar naarmate mijn man steeds meer jaagt, zullen we zeker kijken naar het toevoegen van wat hertenvlees aan Remy’s dieet en onze eigen maaltijden.
